Empowering Gifted Learners

Discover resources for families and educators supporting elementary gifted students. I have provided some links to various organizations that can help you learn more about AIG. These sites will help you understand more about gifted students, the NC gifted polices and procedures and also provide information on how you can help/get involved.

Nagc 
National Association FOR GIFTED CHILDREN
The NAGC is a national site that provides support to educators, parents, and families of gifted and talented students. They also offer membership and provide information to links to get involved!

NORTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION FOR GIFTED CHILDREN
Visit the NC Dept of Public Instruction to learn more about NC K-12 standards, testing information, policies, and much more about NC AIG!
The NCAGT is an organization that supports and advocates for academically and/or intellectually gifted students in NC. Their site contains valuable resources and information on how to become a member!
DAVIDSON INSTITUTE
Focuses specifically on "profound gifted" students (those in the 99.9th percentile). 
They offer a massive resource library and the "Young Scholars" program - which provides free support for families. 
COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN POLICY AND ADVOCACY

Council for Exceptional Children contains great information regarding Policy and Advocacy for gifted and exceptional children.
Mensa for Kids is full of free lesson plans, TED connections and the popular Reading program - Excellence in Reading.

Social-Emotional Support
duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) 
Unlike organizations that focus on academics, SENG focuses on the social and emotional health of gifted individuals. They offer parent support groups and resources for "twice-exceptional" (2e) learners.
Duke University has developed a talent identification program, aimed at helping to identify and serve gifted and talented students. This link to the left takes you to their resources page for parents and educators. Be sure to search the Resources menu on the right side of the page!

A world leader in gifted education that offers summer programs, online courses, and rigorous testing for advanced K-12 learners.

HOAGIES' GIFTED EDUCATION PAGE 
This organization is dedicated to enrichment programs for gifted and talented students! Search the many different program options they offer and seek additional information and resources on gifted and talented students.
Often called the "all-things-gifted" resource, this is a comprehensive "clearinghouse" of articles, research, and links for almost every niche within gifted education.

THE GIFTED CHILD SOCIETY 

They are a non-profit dedicated specifically to the overall well-being and development of gifted children from preschool through high school.
For parents, educators, & other professionals. Helping 2e children reach their potential.
This is blog site for gifted and talented students! It contains great information and resources. The link will first take you to information on being creatively gifted and talented. From there, you can navigate the site to further explore!

Welcome to The Association for the Gifted (TAG) Webpage! TAG is a vibrant organization of diverse individuals who make a difference in the lives of students with gifts and talents on a daily basis.
SIG - The Summer Institute for the Gifted - offers great programs during the school year and summer for gifted and talented students! The site also contains lots of information and links! The link to the left takes you straight to their resources page for gifted and talented students. If you scroll down further on the page, you will also see great activities for gifted students!
